- Work is recommended to be carried out at an ambient temperature of 5°C to 40°C and a sealant temperature of 20–25°C. If the tube is kept well below 15°C, the applicator plastic becomes brittle, which, combined with the increased viscosity of the cold sealant, can cause the applicator to break.
- Apply the sealant to a clean, dry and grease-free surface. To remove traces of old sealant, we recommend using KR-969 "Sealant Remover" and KR-965 "Brake Cleaner" for cleaning.
- Remove the first opening control flag, remove the protective cap. Activate the applicator by smoothly turning its head clockwise in the “MAX” direction until it stops, the applicator trigger will rise to a working position. Warning! In case of an incomplete rotation to the “MAX” position, the applicator head may be irretrievably dismantled!
- Roller thickness is adjustable with a trigger pull, application speed and angle between nozzle and application surface.
- Gently pulling the trigger, apply the sealant in a continuous uniform strip on one of the surfaces, first along the perimeter, then around the mounting holes. Bond the surfaces immediately before the silicone hardens. Once the sealant has hardened, no further tightening of the bolts is required.
- At the end of work, to prevent unwanted dosing, gently turn the applicator head counterclockwise in the direction of "MIN" until it stops, clean the spout and put on the protective cap.
- Surfaces contaminated with sealant should be cleaned with a solvent (acetone, white-spirit) until the sealant has hardened. Remove excess hardened sealant mechanically using KR-969 Sealant Remover.
- Formation of a surface film — 10–12 min., Sealant hardening rate — 2 mm per day (at a temperature of +23°C and relative humidity of 50%).
